India and US Conclude Exercise Tiger Triumph 2026 in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam hosted the successful conclusion of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2026, the bilateral tri-service Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) exercise between India and the United States.

The fifth edition of the exercise concluded with a closing ceremony in the city on November 5, bringing together military personnel and senior officers from both countries. The exercise was conducted from October 31 to November 5, 2026.

The initiative aimed to strengthen interoperability, improve joint operational planning and enhance coordination between the armed forces of the two nations during large-scale disaster response operations.

Focus on Joint Disaster Relief Operations

Exercise Tiger Triumph 2026 focused on planning and conducting combined humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions, particularly joint amphibious operations.

The exercise included two major components:

  • Staff Exercise (STAFFEX): Focused on operational planning, academic discussions and expert exchanges covering areas such as cyberspace and medical operations.

  • Tabletop Exercise (TTX): Enabled participating personnel to test their plans and concepts in a simulated operational environment and improve coordination mechanisms.

These activities provided an opportunity for military personnel from both countries to exchange professional knowledge and operational best practices.

Senior Military Officials Attend Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony was attended by Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, and Rear Admiral Joaquin J. Martinez de Pinillos, Vice Commander of the US Pacific Fleet.

Senior military officers and dignitaries from India and the United States also participated in the concluding event.

Strengthening India-US Defence Cooperation

First conducted in 2019, Exercise Tiger Triumph serves as an important platform for strengthening defence cooperation between India and the United States.

The successful completion of the 2026 edition reinforces both countries' commitment to improving joint disaster response capabilities and supporting peace, stability and security across the Indo-Pacific region.
