Aruna Gali is the Co-Founder of School Radio that promotes the voice of children and youth. She has worked in National, International reputed NGOs, CSR and with the AP state Government. Aruna was received Human Rights Champion Award at National Conference at Youth for Human Rights India, 2015. 

She received Human Rights Champion Award at National Conference at Youth for Human Rights India, 2015. She produced and edited many videos on different topics for Vikasa Dhatri (www.youtube.com/vikasadhatri) and facilitated Production of 55 short films on sustainable agricultural practices for Society For Elimination of Rural Poverty- Community Managed Sustainable Agriculture, Andhra Pradesh & Digital Green.

Hobbies and Interests:
Gardening, Waste Management, and Writing.

Education: 
Schooling at Srisailam, Hyderabad and Graduation at Mrs.AVN College, Visakhapatnam and Post Graduation at Andhra University and DEI, Dayalbagh, Agra, Uttara Pradesh.

Achievements during early days of career: 
Aruna Gali, when working as Project Officer of National Green Corps, received “Best Performing Project Officer Award" on the International Ozone Day -2001 from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.

Early days of career: 
Worked as a Sports Journalist and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and interviewing most of the sports personalities. Probably I may be the first ever Woman Telugu Sports Journalist.


Key to success: 
Doing the work that I love the most.

Inspiration: 
My husband Udaya Kumar Gali is the inspiration and strength behind all the work I do. He is an Environmental Educator, Trainer and authored many books on social and environmental issues.

Thoughts on Women’s Life: 
Planet Earth and Women - You can not live without and yet ignore the most.

Advice to women: 
Throughout history, women were confined to the domestic sphere, while public life was reserved for men and as women we need to break the bias. Crimes against women have increased in recent times.

What would you say about that?
Crimes against women have not increased, but are reported more in recent times. It is an age-old practice that is to be eradicated.

Favourite Book: The Guide' novel written by R. K. Narayan.

Where do you aim to see yourself in the next five years?
Setting up School Radio Clubs in educational institutions in all the states of India

What are your thoughts about feminism?
Feminism, the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the gender equality, is the need of the hour. We are conditioned to view the world from the male point of view and it is to be changed.
