Andhra Pradesh Industries and IT Minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy passed away due to heart attack in the early hours of Monday, 21st February, 2022 in Hyderabad.

The 50-year-old complained of chest pain in the early hours of Monday and family members rushed him to hospital. It is known that Mr. Reddy was brought dead to the hospital.

He recently travelled Dubai to meet investors. Goutham Reddy was in Dubai last week where he held several meetings with the top global industries trying to bring the investors to the state. He came back to Hyderabad from Dubai on Saturday. 

It is also known that the Minister recently recovered from COVID-19 and the doctors also suspect the post-covid complications might have led to the sudden heart attack. 

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan expressed shock over the sudden demise of Goutham Reddy.

Mr. Reddy is survived by wife and two children. Goutham Reddy is an MLA from Atmakur constituency of Nellore district.
