Nagula Chavithi Celebrated with Devotion in Visakhapatnam
Visakhapatnam came alive with devotion as thousands celebrated Nagula Chavithi on Tuesday, honoring the serpent deity with prayers and traditional offerings. Observed on the fourth day after Diwali Amavasya, the festival drew crowds to snake pits and temples across the city.
Local vendors noted high demand for milk sachets and eggs, essential for the rituals, while devotees brought fresh flowers, lamps, incense, and sweets.
In areas like Seethammadhara, MVP Colony, and Gopalapatnam, celebrations were especially vibrant. To accommodate visitors, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park opened early and welcomed nearly 10,000 guests, generating Rs 7,58,270 in revenue.
