No Immediate Plans to Shift GVMC Office, Say Officials
Visakhapatnam: Recent reports suggesting the possible relocation of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) office from Ramnagar to Arilova had stirred speculation.
In response to these rumors, GVMC Deputy Mayors J Sridhar and K Satish stepped forward to provide clarity, asserting that there are currently no immediate plans to move the office to Arilova.
Addressing the media at the GVMC office on a Friday, the deputy mayors revealed that the GVMC possesses a 5.6-acre land parcel in the Arilova area of Visakhapatnam.
They further stated, "We will engage in discussions regarding this matter within the council and request its permission to initiate the preparation of a detailed project report. However, this process may consume a considerable amount of time," explained Sridhar and Satish.
Responding to the proposed fast unto death by Jana Sena corporator P Murthy Yadav, scheduled to commence on September 25, the deputy mayors dismissed all allegations made by Yadav against UCD project director Papu Naidu as baseless.
This statement serves as an official response to address the concerns surrounding the GVMC office's potential relocation, emphasizing the need for thorough consideration and a detailed project assessment before any such decision is made.
