INS Sahyadri Engages in Trilateral Maritime Exercise
Visakhapatnam: The Indian Navy's formidable warship, INS Sahyadri, currently on mission deployment in the Indo-Pacific region, recently took part in the inaugural trilateral Maritime Partnership Exercise alongside ships and aircraft from the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and the Indonesian Navy.
This trilateral exercise, conducted over September 20 and 21, served as a valuable opportunity for the three maritime nations to bolster their partnership and enhance their collective capabilities, aimed at promoting stability, peace, and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
Beyond its strategic objectives, the exercise also provided a platform for the participating naval forces to exchange knowledge and expertise.
In addition to boosting interoperability, the exercise included intricate tactical maneuvers, cross-deck visits, and cross-deck landings of integral helicopters, all of which contributed to the continuous training and readiness of the crew.
INS Sahyadri, the third vessel of the indigenously designed and constructed Project-17 class multirole stealth frigates, was proudly manufactured at the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited in Mumbai.
The ship operates under the command of Captain Rajan Kapoor, showcasing the Indian Navy's dedication to safeguarding and promoting stability in the Indo-Pacific region through collaborative initiatives like this trilateral exercise.
