Onam Festival Brings Kerala's Culture to Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: The essence of Kerala’s Onam festival filled the air in Visakhapatnam as over 2,000 Malayalees gathered at the Kerala Kala Samithi on Sunday.

The venue echoed Kerala’s traditions, featuring vibrant flower carpets (pookkalam), a grand Onam feast (sadya), and lively cultural performances.

Families, dressed in traditional attire, took part in tug of war, uriyadi, and other festivities. The highlight of the event was the 26-dish Onam sadya, served on plantain leaves.

Kerala MLA Pramod Narayan and Visakhapatnam North MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju graced the occasion, adding to the festive spirit.
