Over 400 kg of Cannabis Seized in Anakapalli, Three Arrested



Visakhapatnam: Madugula police seized 408 kg of cannabis and 2 kg of hash oil worth over ₹21 lakh during a vehicle check near Garikbanda Village on Tuesday. Three suspects with prior drug-related offenses were arrested.
 
Anakapalli SP Tuhin Sinha, briefing the media, stated, “Based on specific intelligence, police intercepted the drug transfer around 9:30 a.m.” The team, led by K. Kotapadu CI Paidipu Naidu and SI Narayana Rao, confiscated 204 cannabis packets packed in 21 bags, along with three mobile phones and a motorcycle. One suspect, from Kerala’s Ernakulam district, has a previous case in Payakaraopeta, while the others are from Alluri Sitaramaraju district.
 
 
 
 
 

In a separate operation, Kottakota police seized 40 kg of cannabis at the Dondapudi check post and detained four suspects from Kerala’s Kottayam district, recovering five mobile phones and ₹8,000 in cash.
