PM Narendra Modi receives a rousing welcome in Vizag
PM Modi was greeted warmly by enthusiastic Vizagites during his 1.5-kilometer road show from Maruthi Junction near Sheela Nagar to the Eastern Naval Command's navy base. Over 25000 people gathered to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. From his bulletproof vehicle, he waved to the people on both sides of the road.
To express their affection for Modi, the crowd began shouting Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Modi Modi while waving the Indian flag, holding placards with Modi images, and throwing flower petals.
PM Modi arrived in Vizag at 8 p.m., half an hour later than scheduled due to unfavorable weather. At the airport, AP Governor Biswa Bhusan and Chief Minister Jagan, as well as BJP MPs and state leaders, welcomed him. In light of the previous stone-pelting incident at the airport, high security was deployed at the airport and over 2000 police were deployed along the road show route.
