Preparation Underway: EVM Deployment Across Visakhapatnam Constituencies
In Visakhapatnam's Parvthipuram Manyam district, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been successfully distributed to all assembly constituencies in preparation for the upcoming elections.
The randomization of these EVMs took place on April 12th, with representatives from various political parties overseeing the process. Following this, the machines were allocated to their respective constituencies, with detailed lists provided to all political parties involved.
To ensure the security of the electoral process, strong rooms have been set up at strategic locations: the Government Junior College in Parvthipuram for the Parvthipuram Assembly constituency,
The Post Metric Hostel building in Kurupam for Kurupam Assembly constituency, the Government Junior College building in Palakonda for Palakonda Assembly constituency, and the Government Degree College in Saluru for the Saluru Assembly constituency.
Under strict supervision, Returning Officers have received the EVMs and securely stored them in these strong rooms.
Across the district, there are a total of 1031 polling stations spread among the constituencies: 287 in Palakonda, 268 in Kurupam, 233 in Parvthipuram, and 243 in Saluru.
Each polling station has been equipped with the necessary ballot units, control units, and VVPATs to facilitate the voting process effectively.
Furthermore, training programs for presiding officers and assistant presiding officers have been ongoing from April 12th to 15th at the constituency headquarters.
District Collector Nishant Kumar personally visited each constituency, emphasizing the importance of utilizing these training sessions effectively to ensure smooth conduct during the elections.
