G.V.L. Narasimha Rao requests the Minister of Communication, Electronics, and Information Technology to prioritize the deployment of 5G services in Visakhapatnam.  He sent an official letter to Ashwini Vaishnaw requesting that Visakhapatnam be prioritized for the launch of 5G services at the earliest.

He emphasized the importance of bringing 5G services to Visakhapatnam, calling it a veritable economic growth engine for Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the strategic and national security significance of Vizag, which is home to the Eastern Naval Command.

The presence of Visakhapatnam port, Hindustan Shipyard Ltd, Hindustan Petroleum, SAMEER, and others necessitates prioritizing and bringing 5G technology, which is expected to be much faster than 4G.

His letter also included a request that important cities in AP such as Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Rajamundry, Kakinada, and Tirupati be included in the next batch of cities being considered for the launch of 5G services.
