Vizag bagged awards in multiple categories in Swachh Survekshan 2022



Greater Visakhapatnam was ranked as the fourth-cleanest city in India. In the Swachh Survekshan 2022, it was ranked fourth among India's cleanest cities. On October 1, President Droupadi Murmu announced the results at the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav in New Delhi.

 


Vizag received a five-star rating in the category of garbage-free cities. In the Million Plus City category, Visakhapatnam was also announced as the "top impact creator."

Visakhapatnam was named a "clean big city." The city should have a population of 10 lakhs to 40 lakhs, to be eligible under this category. Union Minister of State for Housing Kaushal Kishore presented awards to Visakhapatnam municipal commissioner P. Raja Babu and Mayor G. Hari Venkata Kumari at the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav held in New Delhi.
