Sea Harrier fighter jet shifted into museum at RK Beach
Decommissioned by the Indian Navy in 2016, Sea Harrier fighter jet was brought to Vizag from Goa by the officials of Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA).
The authorities have developed the fighter jet into a tourist attraction by turning it into a museum.
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh sanctioned Rs 10 crore, for the development of the Sea Harrier Museum on RK Beach, to VMRDA.
The Sea Harrier fighter jet plane is now shifted inside the newly built Sea Harrier museum in Visakhapatnam. The disassembled fighter plane was spotted while moving inside the museum located at RK Beach.
The museum was formerly Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan. VMRDA has planned a project that integrates TU-142 Aircraft Museum, ‘Victory at Sea’ Memorial, AU Convention Hall, INS Kursura Submarine Museum and The Sea Harrier Museum on RK Beach Road.
