In response to the upcoming Karthika Masam season and consecutive holidays, the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP) in Visakhapatnam has announced a modified schedule for visitors.

The Curator, Nandani Salaria, revealed in a Saturday release that the zoo will be accessible to the public every Monday, starting from November 13 and continuing until December 13.

Explaining the decision, Salaria noted that Mondays during Karthika Masam hold special significance for many, as they are considered auspicious days for 'Vana Bhojanams' or forest feasts. In consideration of this cultural tradition and to accommodate the public, the zoo management has opted to keep the zoo open on Mondays during this period.

To facilitate this adjusted schedule, the zoo will be closed on Wednesdays instead of the typical general holiday on Mondays. This strategic arrangement aims to align with the preferences of the community and enhance the overall experience for visitors during the festive Karthika Masam season.
