In a recent development in Visakhapatnam, three officials from the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) have been suspended by District Collector A Mallikarjuna.

The suspension comes in the wake of alleged involvement in fraudulent activities by the community organisers of the Urban Community Development department.

The investigation into the matter was conducted by GVMC Additional Commissioner KS Viswanathan, who subsequently submitted a report to the District Collector. 

 As a result, Narasimhulu, Tirumala Rao, and SV Ramana, who held positions as community organisers, were handed suspension orders. Additionally, an assistant project director received a show cause notice as part of the disciplinary action.

This move underscores the authorities' commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency within the municipal administration, ensuring accountability among its officials.

Further actions may be taken pending the outcome of ongoing investigations into the reported fraudulent practices.
