2) The slots remain a point of concern, with lot of restrictions between 8 am and 8 pm. We requested APD to write to Navy to give at least 10 slots per hour , every hour.between 8am and 8 pm. In peak hours , there is only one flight permitted to land and take off between 3 to 4 pm and 7pm to 8pm.
This will disrupt our future economic growth.

No aircargo is now moved out of vizag. 150 tonnes which was there earlier including emergency cargo like blood sameswere stopped, Only limited shrimp was allowed on request of CM for 3 months. We requested MP garu to take up this with ministry imm.

Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, is a city on the eastern coast of India and is the ninth-ranked city in India in terms of GDP. It is an important industrial center, home to the largest seaport in the state of Andhra Pradesh and a major naval base. The city's airport is a key transportation hub, connecting it to other major cities in India and the world. However, the limited number of flight slots at the airport is hindering the city's economic growth.
Currently, there are only 60 slots available between 8 am to 8 pm for both landings and takeoffs. This means that only 30 aircraft can come and go in 12 hours. For a growing city like Visakhapatnam, this limited number of slots is a major hindrance to economic growth. The city needs more flight slots to cater to the increasing demand for air travel.
With the construction of a new airport expected to take 3 to 4 years, the need for more slots is urgent. The city needs at least double the current number of slots to handle the growing passenger traffic. The authorities need to act fast to grant more flight slots to airlines, allowing them to meet the increasing demand for air travel.
In addition to more passenger flights, the city also needs permission for outward air cargo movement immediately. With the growth of the city's industries, there is an increasing need for air cargo movement to transport goods to other parts of the country and the world. The city needs dedicated cargo planes to cater to this demand.
Furthermore, the city needs more international flights to connect it to other parts of the world. The limited number of international flights from Vizag is a major hindrance to the growth of the city's tourism and business sectors. The authorities need to work with airlines to increase the number of international flights from the airport.
Finally, the city needs night parking facilities with proper facilities. Currently, the airport does not have adequate night parking facilities, which limits the number of aircraft that can be parked overnight. This is a major issue for airlines that want to operate red-eye flights from Vizag.
In conclusion, the limited number of flight slots at Visakhapatnam airport is hindering the city's economic growth. With the construction of a new airport still several years away, the authorities need to act fast to grant more slots to airlines, allow outward air cargo movement, increase the number of international flights, and provide night parking facilities with proper facilities. These steps are necessary to ensure that the city can meet the increasing demand for air travel and support its growing economy.
