The district collector directs officials to conduct special drives to detect anaemia in pregnant women and children
The Visakhapatnam District Collector has directed that a special drive be launched to detect anaemia in children and pregnant women. He instructed them to go to schools, anganwadi centers, and households to distribute the tablets to those suffering from anaemia.
A review meeting was held with the Health Department and the Department of Women and Children Welfare to discuss these drives and the progress of these drives would be reviewed in four to six weeks, based on which a new plan of action will be decided.
Officials from the Health, Women, and Child Welfare Departments were also asked to hold weekly review meetings to discuss issues regarding anaemia, nutrition, and child marriages.
