The Global Investor's Summit in Vizag is Expected to Attract Massive Investments
The Global Investors' Summit (GIS) will be held in the city on March 3 and 4, 2023. During this summit, prominent industrialists and company representatives from India and around the world are set to attend. The national and international industry leaders and delegates participating in the event are likely to announce huge investments in the state. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his satisfaction with the state's tireless efforts to ensure that the summit is a huge success. He also added that it is a significant accomplishment that major firms are now planning to invest in AP. Bigwigs from around 40 countries are expected to attend the summit, making it a global platform for businesses to explore investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also stated, "Here I am to invite you to Visakhapatnam, which will be our capital in the days to come." The state government has identified 13 focus sectors that offer unparalleled opportunities. The summit is projecting AP as India's gateway to the southeast with its 974-km-long coastline, the second-longest in the country, with six existing ports and four upcoming ports. The state also shares space for three of the eleven industrial corridors being developed by the Center across the country.
On the first day, a discussion on the "Andhra Advantage" and its impact on India's modern economy will happen. The summit will also include sessions on sustainable development, India’s tech and EV revolution, and India's gateway to Southeast Asia, among other topics. AP has been leading the ease of doing business tally with the implementation of a fast-track mechanism. In addition, the single-window system brings together 96 services from 24 government departments in one place. Senior Union Ministers will also be addressing the summit on day one, led by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways; Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles; RK Singh, Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy; and G Kishan, Union Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Development of the North Eastern Region, who will also highlight the progress made and investment opportunities present in different sectors.
During the inaugural session, Mukesh Ambani, CMD of Reliance Industries Ltd; Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group; KM Birla, Chairman of Aditya Birla Group; Hari Mohan Bangur, Chairman of Shree Cement Ltd; Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group; Sanjiv Bajaj, MD & CEO of Bajaj Finserv; and Naveen Jindal, Chairman of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, will address the summit.
On day two of the summit, there will be several industry-focused sessions, including one led by Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MOS - Electronics & IT, India, on Andhra's role in India's tech and data edge, and another led by Sarbanand Sonowal, Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, on how Andhra can power India's sea trade.On behalf of the State government, Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath and Special Chief Secretary Karikal Valaven will lead the valedictory session. There will be a presentation on leading the pharma R&D revolution by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Chairman Dr. Satish Reddy and a discussion on protecting the world against diseases led by Bharat Biotech Founder & Chairman Dr. Suchitra Ella. The CM will deliver the concluding address of the summit and highlight how AP has held the top spot in terms of ease of doing business for three consecutive years.
