The Port City- Vizag Should be on Everyone's Bucket List

Visakhapatnam, also called the "City of Destiny," rests peacefully between the Eastern Ghats and the Bay of Bengal coast. Known for its beaches, valleys, and lush green paths, Vizag is the second largest port city on the east coast of India and is among the top 10 cities that contribute to the GDP of India. The city, consisting of the country's only natural harbor, is also known for its seafood exports as well as its mouth-watering cuisine. Breathtaking views, scenic landscapes, easy access to tribal areas, natural formations, Buddhist stupas, a naval base, and others make it a must-visit destination.

Reasons to add this city to your bucket list:
The Indian Navy conducted an aerial survey for the purpose of establishing a naval base, and during that aerial survey, the Thotlakonda Buddhist complex was discovered. The Andhra Pradesh State Archeology Department carried out significant excavations from 1988 to 1993, leading to the discovery of Thotlakonda, Bavikonda, Bojana Konda, and Pavurallakonda. These Buddhist complexes and stupas will let you witness Buddhism's presence and its architecture.

British structures are still standing alongside the city. District Collectors Office, Andhra University, Mrs. A.V.N. College, Victoria Town Hall, St. Alyosis Boys High School, and other places stand as the epitome of the pre-independence period. These places are also seen in Telugu films. It is definitely a good experience to visit these places.

The history of Vizag dates back to 260 BC. Visakha Museum has been preserving the historical records and pieces of evidence of the city; you can relive the past here. The presence of Asia's first submarine museum and the recently added aircraft museum are the country's pride. The Kurupam Tomb, also called Vizag Tajmahal, which was built by the Zamindar of Kurupam, Rajah Vyricherla Veerabhadra Raju Bahadur, in memory of his wife, is a jewel in Vizag's crown. Movie buffs can visit the Ramanaidu Studios and the Vizag Film Society.

Kailashgiri, Dolphin Nose, Yarada Hill, Ramanaidu Studios, Thotlakonda, and Tenetti Park offer breathtaking beach views. These co-exist with lush green views, waterfalls, terrace farming, foggy views, and many more at Araku, Chintapalli, Lambasingi, and Vanajangi, and the list is only continuous as Vizag is known for winter destinations.

Food, culture and people are things you will fall in love with. Simhachalam temple, Sri Kanaka Maha Lakshmi temple, Kanyaka Parameshwari temple, Ross Hill Church, and Baba Ishaq Madina Mosque will give you a divine touch. Being culturally rich, this city is known for its religious harmony. When it comes to food, Vizagites are known for experimenting with various cuisines and mouth-watering delicacies. A few famous foods that originated in Vizag include bamboo chicken, bamboo biryani, Pela Vadiyalu, Teepi Avakaya, Madugula Halwa, Chepala Pulusu, and many more.
