In a sudden jolt early Thursday morning, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck near Jhajjar in Haryana, sending strong tremors across the Delhi-NCR region, including Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, and nearby areas. The quake was recorded at 9:04 AM by the National Center for Seismology (NCS).
Eyewitnesses reported feeling the ground shake for several seconds, prompting many residents to rush out of homes, schools, and office buildings in panic. Fortunately, no loss of life or property damage has been reported so far.
According to seismic experts, Delhi-NCR lies in Seismic Zone IV, which is considered one of the most earthquake-prone regions in India. Regular mild to moderate tremors are not uncommon in the area, but today’s 4.4 magnitude quake caused enough concern to trend on social media platforms within minutes.
