In Visakhapatnam, the rich tapestry of Carnatic music and Classical dance unfolded gracefully at the 'Thyagaraja Aradhanotsavam', a cultural extravaganza hosted by the GITAM Department of Fine and Performing Arts.

The event commenced with an inauguration by the distinguished Carnatic vocalist M Jalajakshi, graced by the presence of Bandi Kamaih, the dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and S.P. Rao, the dean of GIMSR.

Adding to the musical delight, noted radiologist B.K. Duraga Prasad and Veenadhari enthralled the audience with a captivating veena concert.

The evening continued to resonate with melodies as a team of music students, guided by Nikhita Srivalli Malini, performed vocal renditions of Thyagaraja krithis.

Ananda Srihari on mridangam and Lakshmi Prasanna on violin complemented the soulful performances with their masterful accompaniment.

Alongside the vocal recitals, the stage came alive with captivating displays of Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, and Mohiniyattam, each telling its own story through intricate movements and expressions.

A highlight of the event was Surya Teja's enlightening presentation on the life and works of Thyagaraja, offering the audience deeper insights into the legacy of the revered composer.

Through a harmonious blend of music and dance, the 'Thyagaraja Aradhanotsavam' in Visakhapatnam became a celebration of artistic talent and cultural heritage, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
